BFFood shares experiences and initiatives with the consortium of the European acceleration project Food-scalEUp
Business Factory Food (BFFood) presented its activity this Thursday to the consortium of the European project Food-scalEUp, a new European initiative coordinated by the Galician Food Cluster (Clusaga), which aims to strengthen regional digital innovation ecosystems for the agri-food sector, especially to improve effectiveness and impact in the acceleration of startups and innovative SMEs.
Specifically, this will be achieved through the development of higher quality business acceleration services and the strengthening of collaborative relationships and knowledge exchange among the different stakeholders. All of this will contribute to generating high value-added jobs in the European regions involved.
Presentation of the Galician food sector accelerator
During the project kick-off meeting, held in Santiago de Compostela on September 21 and 22, the Galician food sector accelerator, BFFood, was presented to representatives of the 9 organizations from 5 European countries that make up the Food-scalEUp consortium. Key representatives of BFFood exchanged information with attendees about specific experiences and initiatives for accelerating the Galician ecosystem and established comparisons with accelerators from other European regions.
The meeting was attended by representatives from the Galician Innovation Agency (GAIN), Congalsa and Nueva Pescanova (BFFood mentor companies) and FEUGA (coordinator of coaching services). The accelerator presentation concluded with the success story of TripleAlpha, a company that benefited from BFFood. Additionally, attendees had access to the BFFood catalog, which includes all the acceleration and consolidation projects that have gone through the accelerator.
Upcoming call opening
After selecting 7 new acceleration projects and 6 consolidation projects for its IV Edition, the accelerator manager, Xosé Ramón Vázquez, announced the launch of the V Edition of BFFood, whose call opening for submitting projects is scheduled for this month of October. Through it, a total of 10 acceleration projects and 6 consolidation projects will be able to benefit from this program for entrepreneurship.
