Innovative entrepreneurship in the food sector was the focus of the latest Xantares Biocientíficos event, organised by BioReDes at the Faculty of Sciences on the Campus Terra of the University of Santiago de Compostela.
The session addressed the opportunities and challenges of the first accelerator in the Galician food sector, Business Factory Food. Javier Álvarez, head of BFFood, explained all the services and support the accelerator provides to the selected projects to turn them into innovative, viable and scalable companies.
Xantares Biocientíficos also welcomed José Manuel Núñez, CEO of Torre de Núñez and a leading company within BFFood, who discussed the challenges facing the Galician food sector and the role they play in the accelerator.
Finally, the session featured the experience of one of the projects selected in the first edition of BFFood, Pablo López, founder of Essence Food. First-hand, he explained the opportunities they are gaining thanks to the accelerator, such as access to funding, specific training, mentoring or coaching.
