BFFood adds the “innovation in the face of COVID-19” challenge to its 1st consolidation call

Business Factory Food (BFFood) has added a new challenge to its first consolidation call, joining the seven existing ones, with the aim of seeking projects that can be applied to the food sector and its value chain and that represent innovation, in a broad sense, aimed at strengthening the resilience of Galicia’s food industry in emergency situations arising from pandemics, such as the one we are experiencing with COVID-19.

The other seven existing challenges defined by the accelerator’s anchor companies—traceability, food quality and safety; logistics; sustainability and packaging; new product development; process and marketing innovation; and an open challenge—remain in place.

Any entity may submit its application to this 1st consolidation call until June 8 at 2:00 PM, the date on which the registration period closes. Applications must be submitted through the accelerator’s website: http://www.bffood.gal/inscripcion

Projects selected for the consolidation programme will receive training, coaching, technical services, infrastructure and resources specifically designed for their area of development, as well as financing through a participating loan from Xesgalicia, which could include a capitalisation option of up to a maximum of €250,000.

This consolidation call, which opened its registration period on February 3, is supported by major anchor companies in the sector, such as Bodegas Martín Códax, Cafés Candelas, Calvo, CAPSA FOOD, Clavo Food Factory, CLUN Cooperativas Lácteas Unidas, Congalsa, Galacteum, Gadis, Kiwi Atlántico, Quescrem, Nueva Pescanova, Torre de Núñez and Viña Costeira, which will be responsible for the mentoring process for the projects selected.
