Food innovation in action: what to expect at the 7th edition of BFFood’s Demo Day

11/09/2026

  • The event will take place on September 23 at the Palacio del Carmen Hotel in Santiago de Compostela
  • It will bring together projects from the 7th edition with companies, mentors, investors, and other stakeholders in the food ecosystem

On September 23, the Demo Day for the 7th edition of Business Factory Food (BFFood) will once again serve as a hub for food innovation. The Forum B do Hotel Palacio del Carmen, Autograph Collection located in Rúa das Oblatas, S/N, 15703 Santiago de Compostela, will host an event where participating startups can showcase their progress and solutions to industry representatives, mentors, and investors.

Running from 9:30 AM to 1:45 PM, the program will feature project presentations, keynote speeches, panel discussions, and networking opportunities.

  • From project to market

The event will kick off at 9:30 AM with attendee registration and the opening session, followed by a keynote titled “Innovating to Scale: What the Industry Is Learning from Startup Collaboration,” delivered by Valentín García Alcocer, VP of Innovation Strategy at Eatable Adventures.

A highlight of the event will be the two pitch rounds featuring projects from the 7th edition of BFFood. These rounds will showcase initiatives from the acceleration phase, offering a firsthand look at the solutions and advancements developed throughout the program.

The event will also feature a coffee break and a dedicated project area, where attendees can visit the participating startups’ booths and build new connections.

The program will continue with a panel discussion focusing on a key issue for the sector: “From pilot to business: what does it take to scale an innovation in the food industry?” The conversation will bring together three complementary perspectives from the ecosystem: Maruxa Quiroga, CEO of TasteLab/Sensesbit; Julio Martínez Rumbo, Head of Strategic Projects and Corporate Development at CEAMSA; and Antonio Tornero, Investment Manager at Clave Capital.

The aim is to delve into the factors that enable an innovative solution to be transformed into a genuine business opportunity and to advance its implementation and growth within the food industry.

  • 9th Info Day: Presentation of the 9th edition of BFFood

The event will also provide an opportunity to look toward the future. At 1:25 PM, Noelia Dosil—Coordinator of the Innovation, Digital Transformation, and Entrepreneurship Area at the Galicia Food Cluster—will present the 9th edition of BFFood, for which the call for applications is currently open.

The session will offer insights into participation opportunities and the various ways the program supports innovative projects linked to the food sector, as well as a chance to address any questions. Those interested in participating in the new edition can review the call for applications and submit their proposals via the BFFood website.

The Demo Day will conclude at 1:45 PM with a networking lunch and a dedicated area to view the projects, wrapping up a day designed to foster connections among entrepreneurs, industry players, the knowledge sector, and investors.
