Call for applications open for the 7th edition of Business Factory Food

Business Factory Food (BFFood) has now opened the registration period for its 7th edition, offering a unique growth opportunity for all food sector startups looking to accelerate their market consolidation. The accelerator, promoted by the Xunta de Galicia through the Galician Institute for Economic Promotion (Igape) and the Closed-End Investment Entity Management Company (XesGalicia), is coordinated by the Galician Food Cluster (Clusaga) and supported by leading companies in the sector.

With the aim of fostering innovation and entrepreneurship in the agri-food sector, BFFood will help transform promising projects with potential into viable and scalable businesses. Starting this Wednesday, March 12, interested entrepreneurs can access the registration form available on its website and submit their application to be part of this initiative that connects talent, industry, and strategic resources for the growth of the food ecosystem. Over its six previous editions, it has supported 73 projects from about 62 companies, 26 of which are newly created. Projects applying for the incubation/acceleration phase can be submitted until April 30, while projects applying for the consolidation phase can do so until September 2.

Benefits for selected projects

Projects entering this new edition of BFFood will enjoy a series of benefits designed to boost their development and maximize their opportunities for market success. One of the fundamental pillars of the program is personalized mentoring, where each initiative will have the support and guidance of a leading company in the food sector. In addition, participants will receive specialized training to strengthen their business model, as well as access to infrastructure and technical services that will facilitate progress in the creation and improvement of their product or service.

Another great value of BFFood is the promotion of networking, allowing entrepreneurs to connect with the agri-food ecosystem, establish strategic relationships, and open new opportunities for collaboration and growth. In the financial sphere, projects that access the acceleration phase can benefit from a non-repayable grant of 25,000 euros awarded by the Galician Institute for Economic Promotion (Igape). In addition, XesGalicia can offer financial support through participatory loans of up to 50,000 euros for the acceleration phase and up to 250,000 euros for the consolidation phase, thus facilitating the stability and expansion of the most promising startups.

Who is the call for?

The 7th edition of Business Factory Food is aimed at innovative projects in the food sector that are in different stages of development. Thus, it seeks to support initiatives in the pre-seed phase, i.e., those that have a business idea and want to translate it into a minimum viable product within a formalized company. On the other hand, projects in the seed phase can also apply, i.e., already established companies with a product idea and an MVP in development, but without sales yet. Likewise, early-stage projects are also invited to participate, with an already developed product or service, a defined business model, and initial sales in the market.

However, to be eligible, projects must meet a series of requirements. For example, all of them must belong to the food sector or have a clear application in it, respond to one of the challenges established in the call, have an innovative character, and have their registered office or center of activity in Galicia before their participation in the acceleration and consolidation phases.

A unique opportunity

All entrepreneurs interested in being part of this new edition of BFFood can consult the full terms and conditions and access the registration form on the accelerator’s official website. This is an exceptional opportunity for food sector startups that wish to boost their growth and position themselves as key players in the industry.

Now is the time to take the leap and be part of the future of food.
